A day of creativity & self-care, hand-building your quirky bud vase using beginner-friendly clay and hand-sculpting techniques. Pottery & Prosecco is a great way to spend a Sunday, forget about the world outside and immerse yourself in mindful making. I will show you techniques to create your very own hand-built vase, using the slab method!
The most important part is to switch off and enjoy yourself. If you have never touched clay or you have dabbled a bit this is a perfect intro into the wonderful world of clay. In this pottery workshop, you’ll get your hands dirty and learn how to sculpt and create a ceramic piece, focusing on building something unique. I will show you the techniques required to get you started, then you can enjoy the next few hours practising your new skills and sculpting a functional keepsake full of personality.
What this workshop includes:
All equipment and tools required including clay. Instructions & guidance. A light vegetarian lunch is included, please feel free to bring your lunch should you have specific dietary requirements. Tea & Coffee are provided, with a complimentary glass of Prosecco. Your work will be bisque-fired and glazed please allow 4 weeks for firing. I will email you to collect from my studio when your pieces have been fired. Please note that this is an adults-only event.
What to bring: Clay is wonderfully messy! Wear some old clothes (apron) and covered shoes, please.
Workshop Timetable:
10 am to 11 am - Demonstration
11 am to 1 pm - You jump right into your bud vase building session
1 pm to 2 pm – Vegetarian lunch and refreshments (we cannot cater for individual dietary requirements)
2 pm to 3.30 pm – Finish decorating and paint your bud vase
